Differences in behaviour between Mum and Dad

Postby perkin » Fri Mar 05, 2010 3:57 pm

I'm loving my third month of being a SAHD. I love drawing making, cooking etc with my elder daughter, it the best! 8) 99% of the time my elder daughter behaves herself perfectly. She's gorgeous.

If she asks for something and I say "No", she then replies "Why Daddy?", and we discuss why.

Then Mummy gets home, elder daughter asks me for something and I say "No" she replies "Waaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Mummy!!! Daddy won't let me!!!!!!".

Anyone had/got the same? Tiredness at the end of day?

Sounds familiar. It's still possible to manage this behaviour, you just need to be more alert to mood swings later in the day. Also, possibly add a healthy snack just before mummy comes home?

We have this from time to time. They like to test the water.
I think the important thing is to make sure that you both say no to whatever it is. Children very quickly resort to emotional blackmail when it comes to getting what they want, especially if they know one of the parents will give in more easily.
1 boy, 6yrs + 2 girls, 4yrs & 10 months = not much gets done.

Thanks. A snack just before mummy comes home sounds a good idea. I'll let you know how well it works......
